Every day I receive multiple emails with long strings of technology jargon that sound edgy — and none would be complete without mentioning Artificial Intelligence, hyper-converged, software defined, assured, synergy — and these are just a few from today. What makes it worse is the emails direct you to websites to download whitepapers that have more of the same.
I have an engineering and business degree, a couple of patents, and more than 30 years of experience in high tech and yet I can’t figure out the point of their message, or more importantly, why I should care. I do admit that there is useful data and information buried in there, however, I’m not going to spend my time or energy digging through to potentially uncover one or two nuggets. Whatever happened to communicating in English to relate directly to the real challenges that businesses face?
Ok…this is not the easiest thing to do and maybe not everyone is wired to think that way…however we at least must try. I face this same challenge at Active Cyber building this website and developing campaigns…. we’ve moved from a 6.5 to an 8.2 and I won’t be satisfied until we’re consistently above a 9.
The point of all this…what you need to know about Active Cyber, its leadership, and its culture is that we 1) make complex stuff simpler 2) help you understand why you should care and 3) do what we say we will do.
